Affordable high-quality fertility solutions

IVF Jamaica continues to make fertility treatment accessible to all. Through our research and highly-trained medical experts, we have designed protocols that are affordable, accessible and right for you. Despite us been the second most affordable treatment centre globally, IVF Jamaica has partnered with one of Jamaica’s prominent financial institutions – JMMB, to providing financial solutions for your journey of having your own bundle of joy. IVF Jamaica prices range from US$750, for the simplest treatment – IUI to US$8000, for the benchmark of fertility options – IVF. IVF Jamaica has the most affordable and customizable fertility options for everyone was are impacted by infertility and life altering illnesses.

Fertility sparing surgery

Female infertility may be caused by conditions affecting the uterus, tubes and ovaries, some of which are amenable to surgical correction while some not. Surgery may improve the outcome in medically assisted conception such as IVF. Repair of the fallopian tubes by microsurgery has largely been reduced by the increased availability of IVF but some patients that may conceive after surgery alone. Laparoscpic lysis and removal of adhesions covering the tubes and ovaries allow the tubes to once again pick up the eggs at ovulation. Removal of swollen inflamed tubes (salpingectomy) increases the pregnancy rates in patients undergoing IVF.

Hysteroscopic (fibroid removal) myomectomy of submucous fibroids by resection increases the pregnancy rate in IVF patients. This operation is performed as a day case in appropriately selected patients. Myomectomy by laparoscopy has a lesser role but open myomectomy of fibroids larger than 4cm diameter can be performed.

Resection of adenomyosis from the wall of the uterus and layered repair of the uterine wall may be performed but the data is limited on its enhancement of fertility.

Endometriosis excision is best achieved laparoscopically to remove the diseased tissues from the pelvis to improve fertility.

Counselling for all clients

As a woman gets older there is a natural decline in fertility. Certainly by the age of 38 years many times fertility centres encourage the use of donor gametes. At HWFMU as our clientele are more mature (38 years and above) hence, we strive to offer individualized treatment to give them a chance with their own eggs when other centres would not.

Counselling for all clients

Infertility can be an emotionally painful and psychologically traumatic life changing event that leaves individuals feeling insecure and uncertain about their future. Likewise, being infertile may result in an individual being stigmatized and socially isolated.  As individuals seek medical reproductive help they may experience emotions ranging from despair, hope, anger, anxiety and grief.

At the Hugh Wynter Fertility Management Unit we understand that infertility can be unsettling and emotionally distressing.   Therefore, in addition to the assisted reproductive treatment support which prepares you physically for childbearing, our IVF team through its counsellors provide our clients with appropriate psychological support. This support comes primarily through brief counselling aimed at preparing our clients to adjust emotionally and psychologically to the treatment processes and outcomes.

We look forward to working with you as you take this important step towards achieving your goal towards building your family

Three specialized embryologists

What makes our Unit unique and special, is our dynamic trio. We are fortunate to have the knowledge and expertise of a British trained embryologist who has been in the IVF field for over 30 years. The open mindedness and scientific balance of an American trained embryologist who encourages our lab to explore research opportunities to develop IVF in our region. The Jamaican trained embryologist is eagerly combining the knowledge and open mindedness of the British and American IVF cultures to create a truly comprehensive IVF laboratory only available in Jamaica.

Each embryologist has taken on her own speciality. Mrs Denise Keene, British trained, is responsible for developing and coordinating the Gamete donation programme. Dr Kamali Carroll, American trained, with her keen eye for research is responsible for the developing and coordinating the egg freezing and preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) programme. Mrs.  Rochelle Hammond, Jamaican trained, given her special interest in sperm aims to make the HWFMU Andrology programme one of the best in the region.

Pre-implantation Genetic Testing

Pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT) is a procedure performed in the laboratory during an IVF cycle to detect abnormalities in the chromosomes of the embryo or to test the embryo for a specific known genetic disorder before it is implanted.

The primary goal of PGT is to identify genetic defects in embryos created by IVF before transferring them to the uterus, thus decreasing the possibility of pregnancy terminations and births with genetic abnormalities.

There are three types of Pre-implantation Genetic Testing:

  • 1. Pre-implantation genetic testing for monogenic (single-gene) disorders (PGT-M)
  • 2. Preimplantation genetic testing for structural rearrangements (PGT-SR)
  • 3. Preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A)

Like many new technologies, PGT raises some ethical issues, but it also provides a chance for couples to have a healthy family.

Financial Solutions

The HWFMU has partnered in agreement with Jamaica Money Market Brokers (JMMB) to provide financial solutions for persons using our services to enhance their reproductive health..  This agreement reflects our joint concern about the challenges of having adequate personal financial resources and health insurance to access needed reproductive health services in a timely manner.  Oftentimes time is of the essence in resolving the existing condition and this can be relieved by access to a financial solution such as is now available from JMMB. The JMMB Fertility Solution makes it possible to avoid long delays in addressing your reproductive health issues whether it is a surgical procedure and or to fulfill your dream of becoming a parent. The JMMB Fertility Solution can help you to respond in a timely manner to your sexual and reproductive health needs without disrupting the achievement of your other goals.

JMMB is offering an unsecured loan of up to Jamaican $5 million dollars for individuals seeking fertility treatments and related services offered by the HWFMU. The duration of the loan is 5 years with a competitive interest rate of 18% and a low processing fee, starting at 2%; with no penalty for early repayment. As with any other loan facility, the loan amount and interest rate can be negotiated depending on your collateral support.

IVF Jamaica is committed to making quality fertility care accessible and affordable to everyone and we are dedicated to making your experience memorable.
